New Research Buildings

Two new research buildings opened the fall of 2008.

Emma Byrd Biomedical Research Building

This $40M, four-story, 120,00 square-foot, research building will support ~60 research laboratories. This building features an open laboratory design on each floor.

Blanchette Rockefeller Neurosciences Institute (BRNI)

This $30M, three-story, 84,000 square-foot, research building will provide laboratory space for ~ 40 scientists.

West Virginia Senator Jay Rockefeller established the BRNI in memory of his mother who died from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. BRNI is a not-for-profit research institution that partners with government and private enterprise in the search for cures to cognitive disorders. http://www.brni.org/
