How to Copy and Paste
From Netscape Navigator to Windows Write

These instructions describe the process of copying a portion of a document you are viewing on Netscape into Windows Write using Windows 3.11. This is useful if you want to print or save only part of an Internet document rather than the entire thing.

Write is a simple word processing program found in the Accessories program group. As an alternative, you can paste your text into any word processing program or text editor installed on your computer.

  1. Highlight the text on the Netscape screen that you wish to copy by holding down on the left mouse button and dragging the cursor down the screen. When you have reached the last line you want to copy, release the left mouse button. If you wish to highlight text beyond the immediate screen, continue holding down the left mouse button and drag the cursor onto the grey bar at the bottom of the screen. Additional text will become highlighted. You may need to move your cursor around on the bar to keep the text scrolling. When you have reached the last line you want to copy, release the left mouse button.
  2. Click on Edit above the tool bar at the upper left side of the screen. Click on Copy.
  3. Press on the Alt key and hold it down. Tap the Tab key until the words Program Manager appear in the center of the screen. Release both keys.
  4. Click on the Accessories program group icon. Click on the word Restore to open up this program group. Note: this program group may already be open.
  5. Double click on the Write icon to open the program.
