a coordinated program matrix providing essential services aligned
with the Health Sciences Center’s mission of teaching, research
and service; linking individual schools and unit programs for the
good of students, alumni, friends and the health professions in
general;

increase
numbers of alumni volunteers involved in student learning, both on
campus and in community based programs (for possible
accreditation, experiential education, evaluation and assessment);
-
have
a data base to support research, demographic information, outcomes
assessment, development and student services needs, legislative
reporting and alumni functions;

be
advocates for programs and services that encourage graduates to
live and practice in West Virginia;
-
be
advocates for legislative issues important to the Health Sciences
Center mission and for the good health of West Virginia citizens;

be
seen as providers of off-campus services to alumni throughout West
Virginia and in designated areas outside the state;

be
recognized as a primary source of communications using all
appropriate means (print, electronic, personal contacts) to
enhance the Center’s image, provide networking and keep alumni
and friends connected and informed;

increase
volunteer involvement of alumni in programs and services for
graduates and students;

have
programs in place to recognize and reward outstanding alumni,
students and faculty;

have
active alumni associations involved with the schools and providing
resources for programming and financial support for activities and
personal services;

be
financially and operationally efficient, productive and
accountable stewards of time and resources based on the Health
Sciences Center, individual program, and association goals; and

have
a concerted staff who will lead with dedication and enthusiasm and
will genuinely exhibit pride and joy in their work
