Emma Moore
WVUH
Emma spent the day with me. I could not have had a more giving angel. I was having a particularly hard day and she was there for me again and again, and I was not an easy task. With all the dark troubling things that have happened to me since I have been here, I was blessed to have Emma give me the patience and care I needed on one of my darkest days. Thank You Emma, my Guardian Angel

Dr. Brian Reidel
WVUH
Dr. Reidel...words cannot even begin to show my appreciation to you and your staff. If it had not been for you accepting my son when you accepted him and running tests on him when you ran tests on him, he may not be with me today. For that, I owe you my life. There is not enough thank you’s out there to express my gratitude for saving my precious son. YOU were the FIRST person in 3 years, besides his new pediatrician who listened to me and moved on my request that something was wrong with my child. This may be a long road and may still be a long road, but you know what, I don’t even think about that, I am just thankful for the fact that you and your staff have cared enough to be there for my family. Your compassion is over the top....and from the start, you knew the answers. :) You deserve more than just recognition, but I want to let everyone know what a great physician you are, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Dr. Janna Brown
WVUH
Dr. Janna Brown, there is NONE like you! My son absolutely adores you and looks forward to being around you. You are unlike any other pediatrician I have ever seen. You always take your time with my son, very patient with him, and me, and always there to listen to our conerns. You would come down to my son’s level to better understand what he is going through and needs. I whole heartedly mean this from the bottom of my heart, if we lived even remotely closer to you, you would without a doubt be all of my son’s doctor. You go over and beyond your call of duty as a doctor and for that, I want to to express my gratitude and say THANK YOU. You deserve a million of these. :) Thanks for everything, and thank you for making my son’s stay better. Most of all, thank you for listening and saving my son’s life, their is no repayment for that. :)

Our Nurses
WVUH
WOW, where do I start....my son absolutely loves each and everyone of you on this floor, so many of you have made a difference in his life and went out of your way to make his stay special. Natalie Alleman, you are so special to him, there is none like you in his eyes, or none compared to you, you went completely out of your way to make his stay worth while and your care for him is outstanding and far above any other. Daysha Grimes, you know just how to work with little boys; he loves you and it brightens his day to see you come in. You were special in every way and day you had him, but one day stands out and always will when you took a lot of grief for him and stood for him, and for that, I will NEVER forget. You reminded me of being a mother. Nate, you are a great person, and he always enjoyed having time spent with you, and you were always on time with everything... you take a lot of pride in your work and what you do. Holly Hardesty, you have become another favorite to my son, he lights up when he sees you and has a lot of fun just being around you; he enjoys your time with him and he looks forward to spending time with you. There is so much good to say about each of you and I do not want any to feel left out. Thanks for making my son feel special and making his stay better and every stay he has special. I have nothing bad to say about the nurses here. I cannot thank you guys enough...

Lya Stroupe, RN
WVUH
When my son was first taken to the PICU and was in such critical condition, Lya was his nurse for the first 3 days, she was not just a nurse, she was so much more. She was compassionate, loving, nurturing, and caring. She not only showed her compassion to my son, but to me as his mother, treated me like my family would. Lya is a nurse that you don’t just call a ‘nurse’, but a TRUE nurse, one who is a nurse from the heart....you can always tell the ones who are here for the job and money, and those who are here because they LOVE what they do and want to make a difference in someone’s life, and that she accomplished with us, and we will never forget... She was very attentive to my needs and my family’s needs as well as my sons needs, and even to this day, when my son is in the hospital, she still makes a point to visit, for this we will always be thankful to her and for her. Lya, YOU ARE TRULY OUR GUARDIAN ANGEL, THANK YOU

Nurse Amanda Ferguson
WVUH
Nurse Amanda was the best — she took the extra step to come and talk with our son so that Mommy and Daddy could go to the cafeteria and get a bite to eat and relax. She played with him, and he talks about her every day and how if he has to go back to ‘Morgantown’ he wants Nurse Amanda. Thanks for all you do.

Mary E. Meadows, RN
WVUH
My daughter had surgery in June. Our stay at the hospital was lengthy. In this time frame we met many, many nurses. I was amazed that 99% of those that we encountered were simply amazing, caring, knowledgeable, and highly efficient in their abilities. One of the nurses that stood out to me was Mary Meadows. She was our nurse during the time frame that things were more difficult as far as recovery. Many times Mary just listened to me on me explaining what was going on with my daughter. Within her power as a nurse she offered suggestions. She over and over and over helped us and provided outstanding care. We were already so stressed by what was going on with our daughter and it was so refreshing that Mary helped us carry this burden instead of adding to it. All I can say is your facility must be doing something right. Your nurses are top notch and I would consider Mary one of your best kept secrets! We will be back to have another surgery at the end of July and I hope that we can be in the care of Mary and some of the other fine nurses we met! Thank you Mary so much!

Kenton Schrock, RN
WVUH
My daughter was in the PICU in June. Kenton may have been our nurse only one of those days but I was so impressed by his high work ethics. I observed that while he was not busy he would walk from room to room to check to see if any of the patients needed anything. He helped me many times and brainstormed with me on ideas of making her recovery as comfortable as possible. I was amazed at his maturity level for 21 years old! He expressed to me how much he loved his job and how he realized that if he gave of himself his reward would be great in what he would have received back as a sense of helping others. He is a true asset to Ruby Memorial.

Emily, thank you for your extra special care that you provided to my husband, the two weekends he was in CTU. You provided the best care of all his nurses. You were the only one who washed his hair, tried to shave him and comb the gunk out of his beard. You took time to explain things to me and just talk. If we ever have to come back, I would want you to be our nurse. Our friend had you the following weekend and his wife said you were the best also. Keep up the great work.

Nurse Fiona
WVUH
Fiona was the nurse assigned to my father the last night of his life. She showed him such respect and allowed him to die with such dignity. It would have been easier for her to simply do her duties at the minimum level since he wasn’t going to be with us much longer, but instead she went above and beyond, showing utmost respect to him and treating him and our whole family with a high level of respect and compassion. Dad has been in the hospital many times over the past eleven years, and few medical professionals have dignified him as Fiona did. Thank you so much for your excellent care!

Thank you to ‘Dr. Michael’ for going above and beyond his call of duty.
