History of EYH in West Virginia The first EYH conferences in West Virginia were held in Williamson and Charleston in 1994. One hundred girls and 35 adults participated, and over 30 professional women served as workshop leaders. In 1995, the EYH conferences were held in Beckley and Huntington. Over 300 girls, 70 adults and 50 professional women participated. In 1996, an EYH conference held on the WVU campus in Morgantown, featured 30 more hands-on workshops running simultaneously during 4 sessions. About 70 women scientists, mathematicians and engineers volunteered to present workshops. The professional women who acted as workshop leaders came from industry, business, academia, medicine and government. Over 500 girls and 200 adults attended. In 1997, the EYH conference was held at WVU-Parkersburg and presented over 50 different workshops to the 300 girls who attended. In 1998, the EYH conference was held again in Williamson, West Virginia In 2000, we had the "Aviation Day" event in Morgantown, WV and an EYH Event in Williamson, WV In 2002, "A Discussion of Biochemical Research and Unconventional Career Paths in Science."
