Magnetic Resonance Microscopy
Magnetic Resonance Microscopy works under the
same principle of traditional MRI, only modified for smaller biological
systems. Higher magnetic field strengths in conjunction with larger
gradients permits imaging of mice and rats with spatial resolution
of few tens of microns. My research includes development and application
of methodology for imaging of transgenic mice, mice with different
tumor models and other clinical disorders. Novel contrast agents
will be employed to highlight gene expressions in small embryos
and mice models. The new techniques developed and optimized on
microscopic systems will later be translated to clinical MR systems.
