| This Research Conference was initiated by continued interest of the faculty of the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center of West Virginia University, Charleston Division and the medical staff of the Charleston Area Medical Center to share research ideas. The Research Conference provides a forum for such expression. |
| Research conference participants explore original and current research presented by the faculty and clinicians at the Robert C. Byrd HSC. The program is designed for all health-related professionals and features concurrent sessions highlighting original research and case reports. Poster presentations are also displayed throughout the program. |
| In addition, this annual conference features the Thomas W. Mou Lectureship. Dr. Mou served as the Dean of the School of Medicine of West Virginia University - Charleston Division during the 1980s and upon his retirement, a lectureship was established in his name to honor his contributions to Charleston area clinicians. |
