Robert C. Byrd Clinical Training Center (Charleston Division)

Located at the Charleston Area Medical Center Memorial Division. Anticipated completion date: originally projected Fall 2007, but TBA.
Components: $56 million dollar facility / 175,000 square feet ($10 million dollars in federal funding secured by Senator Byrd)
Purpose: This new center will greatly enhance our collective ability to provide high quality, outpatient services in a patient and family friendly environment. West Virginia University- Charleston Division and Charleston Area Medical Center, together, serve as the health care safety net for all of central and southern West Virginia.
- Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center (Charleston Division)
The building housing the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center of West Virginia University Charleston Division was completed in 1977 and is located at 3110 MacCorkle Ave. S.E., Charleston, WV 25304. It is located immediately adjacent to the Charleston Area Medical Center Memorial Division and houses a 350 person auditorium, a full sized health sciences library, classrooms, and administrative offices for the faculty of the School of Medicine and it's related health science schools. Every year a group of 3rd and 4th year medical students come to the Charleston Division campus to do their clinical training and preparation for their residency training.
