Pharmacy Journal Club (PJC)

Pharmacy journal club is a biweekly meeting scheduled for scholarly discussion and presentation of journal articles, patient cases, and relevant topics (disease states, new drugs, new practice ideas, etc.) pertaining to the practice of clinical pharmacy.

Two people are asked to lead discussions, debate, or present at each meeting.  Presenters primarily include students and residents, however pharmacists and faculty will contribute to the discussion and may occasionally present.

The meeting attendees include at least one WVU faculty member and at least one CAMC Clinical Pharmacist Specialist as well as all CAMC pharmacy practice residents, all WVU pharmacy students rotating in at Charleston Division (within reasonable driving range from rotation site), WVU pharmacy residents, CAMC pharmacists, and invited guests (i.e., interested medical students, medical residents, physicians, nurses, dieticians, fellows, etc).  Global participation is expected.  One faculty member and one clinical specialist are assigned to each meeting date.  If unable to attend, it is the responsibility of that person to find a delegate from his/her department to attend in their place.

Each PJC session has been approved for one hour of Continuing Education credit by ACPE.  Licensed attendees must indicate their desire to receive CE credit on the sign in sheet.

Pharmacy Journal Club is held every other Tuesday at 3:00 PM.  Presentations will generally last 30 minutes each, with the PJC session ending at approximately 4:00 PM.  Notification reminders of meeting time, location, presenters, and agenda are sent via e-mail on Thursdays prior to Journal Club.  Also see Pharmacy Journal Club Schedule 2008-2009.  Meeting locations include the WVU building (on the CAMC Memorial Campus).
