The West Virginia University School of Pharmacy began offering courses
and services in Charleston when it opened its first program at the Charleston
Division in 1977. About one third of the Department of
Clinical Pharmacy faculty are located at the Charleston Division.
These five full-time faculty members are responsible for approximately
one third of the clinical training of undergraduate and doctor of pharmacy
students. Charleston Division faculty are routinely involved in providing
lectures to Morgantown-based students, including coordinating courses and
portions of courses in the doctor of pharmacy program. MDTV has allowed
the Charleston Division component of the department to maintain its unique
flavor while at the same time play more active role in the training of
all pharmacy students in West Virginia.
Each member of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy has an active interdisciplinary service role. Faculty currently work with colleagues in the departments of Family Medicine, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in the West Virginia University School of Medicine. |
