The Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center is committed to growing its research platforms in basic, clinical / translational, and population sciences in order to recruit the best faculty; align our research platforms based on the needs of the residents of the State of West Virginia (i.e., tailor our research efforts along the lines of cancer health disparities encountered in the State especially in breast cancer, lung cancer, and gynecologic tumors especially cervical cancer); and to achieve excellence in targeted cancer research and clinical pursuits to achieve NCI-designation. This will translate into better care for our patients, service to the residents of the State of West Virginia and the unique patient populations we serve, and provide an economic boost to the region and State by establishing a vibrant cancer and extended health sciences research portfolio.
