Message from Interim Dean Louise Veselicky, DDS, MDS, MEd

This is an exciting time to lead the School of Dentistry in its mission to promote a learning environment that addresses the present and future oral health needs of the citizens of West Virginia and beyond by providing an oral health center committed to excellence and innovation in education, patient care, community service, research and technology.

We are constantly striving for excellence within our School and we have much to be proud of:

~ In February of 2007, we completed the renovation of a state of the art clinical facility.

~ WVU School of Denstistry received the first-ever Orna Shanley Prize for enhancing access to care awarded by the American Dental Education Association.

~ Through our Rural Health Education Partnership program, we continue to provide a significant amount of dental care and education to citizens in under served areas of West Virginia while providing students with outstanding clinical experiences.

~ We participated in the first West Virginia Mission of Mercy project (a two-day free dental clinic for underserved population) in June, 2008.

~ Our students are spending time in public schools helping West Virginia promote oral health in the school system.

We have a faculty and staff dedicated to the School of Dentistry’s mission. We also have very loyal donors. Our success is directly linked to the support we receive from donors like you. Your gifts help us continue our legacy as an excellent institution for dental education and patient care.
