Today, WVU competes with other top-notch medical school for the best-qualified and most promising students. From 2003 to the present, there has been a 340% increase in the number of applicants to the WVU School of Medicine. For WVU School of Medicine to acheive its goal of being one of the top 25 medical schools in the nation, we need to offer more scholarship assistance.

Tuition GraphWVU School of Medicine tuition has doubled in less than 10 years, leaving WVU medical students with an average indebtedness of $126,738. We believe that any student admitted to our program should have the opportunity to attend, regardless of financial circumstances. That is why 90% of WVU medical students receive some form of financial aid. Because our scholarship resources are limited, 80% of all aid is in the form of student loans. Scholarship support is a meaningful way to help us recruit great students to WVU, who become great doctors, doing what they love and what the people of West Virginia need.
