Every day your annual gifts help to sustain our mission of providing excellence in education, research and service. Annual giving from alumni and friends is extremely important to the life of each school and bridges the gap between tuition and state funding and the actual cost of educating each student. Your annual gifts help provide funding for scholarships, student and faculty academic program enrichment, access to the latest technologies in our classrooms, opportunities for new discoveries, and so much more. Your annual gifts also support outreach and continuing education programs, helping us reach beyond our campus walls to provide opportunities for better living to all.
Large or small, every gift counts and every gift makes an impact in the lives of those we serve.
Unrestricted funds are used by the current dean of each School at his/her discretion. Your annual gifts for use at the deans’ discretion help where the needs are greatest, are available immediately, and help to provide for various learning opportunities such as allowing students and faculty to travel to special conferences, provide additional research funds to a faculty, and help with outreach services. You can also choose to give to an already established fund within a department or program of your choice.
From the classroom to patient care, your annual gifts of immediate scholarship help students realize their dreams of caring and curing. Scholarship support is essential to our students’ future in healthcare education and a wonderful way of providing a helping hand. You can choose to provide support to an already existing scholarship or to a general annual scholarship fund housed in each school.
Our patients often express the care they received in a variety of ways. If you would like to recognize your caregiver, a popular and meaningful way you can express your appreciation is to make a gift to the WVU Grateful Patients & Families Fund. Your gift to the WVU Grateful Patients & Families Fund made in honor of a doctor, nurse, volunteer or other caregiver helps us to continue to provide state-of-the-art care to the people of West Virginia and around the world. When you recognize a caregiver with a gift, they are acknowledged for a job well–done —one of the most meaningful forms of support you can offer.
