She has also taught at the School of Nursing at Shepherd University. Areas of special interest include prenatal care, maternal/child health, public health issues, and adults as learners. In her off time Amanda enjoys whitewater rafting, visiting the nation’s national parks (favorite so far, Glacier National Park, West Glacier, Montana), cheering on her daughter, Ana, at soccer games, cooking for friends, and gardening. She and her family moved to West Virginia because of the many outdoor opportunities it offers as well as the ability to easily visit the nation’s capitol for concerts and museums and the quick train ride up to Manhattan to visit family.
