Assistant Professor,
Family Med |
Jen grew up not far away in York County, Pennsylvania. She then lived in Baltimore for 12 years, first as a college student at Johns Hopkins University, then as a lab technician at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and finally as a medical student at University of Maryland College of Medicine. She left the east coast to complete training in combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Michigan. Upon graduation in 2006, her desire to return closer to the East Coast and her family, and the beauty and rural flavor of Jefferson County all led her to Harpers Ferry Family Medicine.
During medical school, Jen taught as a tutor, USMLE review instructor, and in a summer program for entering medical students.
During residency, she was involved in a committee that created several innovative programs to improve the education of residents. She considers the teaching medical students and residents a greatly enjoyable aspect of her work at HFFM.
She is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics. In her spare time, Jen loves spending time with her son, Theo, and husband, Erik. She enjoys cooking, exploring local farms and farmer's markets, hiking, and oil painting.
