Eventually, she finally made it back to her Appalachian roots when she came to the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. She is proud to be a descendent of many generations of Appalachian coal miners and farmers from Kentucky and West Virginia, and is a 5th generation great grandchild of Daniel Boone.  She is part of the first generation of her family to earn degrees in higher education. Dr. Bentley was driven to become a physician as a result of understanding firsthand the need for healthcare providers in rural areas.

Dr. Bentley enjoys camping, drawing, home improvement, travel, and time with her family and friends when she is not pursuing her passion of medicine.  She has a particular soft spot for her two “pups,” Darby, who is a Labrador Retriever / Border Collie mix, and Morgan, a Labrador Retriever/?Beagle mix. She is an active supporter of the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and the Human Rights Campaign.
