Hospital Services

From heart disease, stroke and hypertension, to diabetes, cancer and asthma, family physicians provide primary care for the nation's most serious health problems. Our physicians are qualified and credentialed to deliver care to our practice's hospitalized patients. We provide 24 hour hospital inpatient service, work closely with specialty consultants, and can arrange transfer to tertiary care settings when needed to ensure safe, quality care.

Hospital Services Include:

  • A Faculty and a Resident physician staff are always on call 24 Hours, 7 Days a week for inpatient hospital care at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.

  • All of our practice's physicians participate in staffing our Family Medicine Hospital Team to care for you while you are ill and in the hospital.

  • Family Medicine Hospital Team members

    • WVU Lead faculty family medicine physician

    • WVU Hospital dedicated family medicine resident physician

    • WVU Pharmacy faculty - assists team in assuring medication appropriateness and safety

    • WVU Behavioral Health clinical specialist - assists team in addressing hospital patient emotional health issues and medications

  • The hospital team will keep your personal physician informed as to your condition and progress in the hospital.

  • Specialists will be consulted when their expertise is needed for your medical or surgical condition.

Intensive Care Unit
  • Heart attacks

  • Emphysema and Ventilator care

Medical/Surgical Unit
  • Chest pain
  • Abdominal pain
  • Dehydration and kidney illnesses
  • Diabetes care
  • Asthma, COPD, and Pneumonia care
  • Medical care of the post-surgery patient

Newborn Nursery
  • We see our newborns right after birth
  • We attend the births of our newborn who have Cesarean section deliveries
  • We assist our Pediatric physicians in diagnosing and stabilizing critically ill or premature infants who require transfer to regional Neonatal Intensive Care Units

OB-GYN Unit
  • We deliver babies!

Skilled Care and Rehabilitation Unit
  • Stroke recovery
