AEF AIR FORCE SPOUSE SCHOLARSHIPS
Up to 30 AEF Air Force Spouse
Scholarships in the amount of $1000 each are offered by the Aerospace Education
Foundation Education Office to spouses of Air Force active duty, Air National
Guard or Air Force Reserve members. The spouse can be pursuing an

AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY CHAMPION PROGRAM
The Society has established the College Scholarship Program to assist childhood cancer survivors in reaching their educational goals. The Society's College Scholarship Program is open to any survivor of childhood cancer who will attend an accredited two or four year institution and diagnosed before the age of 19, and who are currently 25 and under. Applicants must be legal residents of Delaware, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia. A recipient is awarded $1,000 for the first year and renewals may be awarded in the amount of $500. The maximum scholarship amount to one student will be four awards totaling $2,500. ATTORNEY GENERAL OF WV
PUBLIC HEALTH TRUST
Scholarships are available
to students who are WV residents, attend colleges or universities in WV,
major in a public health field, and attain a 3.2 GPA. The student
must also sign a promissory note that if they do not work in WV after graduation,
they will repay the loan (3 months work in the State for every $1000 received).
The first year a student receives this scholarship the amount is $1000
($500 each semester). Thereafter, the renewal applicants receive
$2000 per year (1000 each semester). Applications are available in
the financial aid office. The deadline to apply is June 1.
DR I.E. BUFF MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Scholarships are available to students with need attending WVU and first preference given to students enrolled in Health Sciences. Recipients must be graduates of a West Virginia High School.
BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL
WOMEN'S FOUNDATION (BPW)
Scholarship is available
to female students 25 years of age or older and who demonstrates a clear
career plan. Student must be a citizen of the US, must have an expected family contribution of $2,500 or less as determined by completing the FAFSA by March 1, and be completing certification between December 1, 2007 and August 31, 2009.

THE FOUNDATION OF MONONGALIA
GENERAL HOSPITAL HEALTH CAREER SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships available to
students in the following career fields: Pharmacy, Occupational Therapy,
Nursing, Nurse Practitioner, Dietitians, Speech Therapy, Physician Assistant
(must have RN degree), Primary Care Physicians (graduate study), Nurse
Midwifery and Physical Therapy. Student must also be a resident in
one of the following counties: Monongalia, Marion, Taylor, Preston, Wetzel,
or Harrison counties of WV; Fayette or Green counties of PA.

ROBERT W. GUNN BOOK SCHOLARSHIP/PUBLIC
& COMMUNITY HEALTH
This endowment shall provide
funds for the purchase of textbooks for students enrolled at WVU in the
School of Medicine. Recipient shall demonstrate academic promise
and financial need.
HISPANIC DENTAL ASSOCIATION
FOUNDATION
Funded by Procter & Gamble
Oral Care. Scholarships awarded in the amounts of $1000 and $500
to entry-level Hispanic U.S. students who have been accepted into
an accredited dental or dental hygiene program. Application is available
by contacting the Financial Aid Office at (304) 293-3706. The application
must be received by the Foundation no later than June 30th for dental students
and July 14th for dental hygiene students.
HOPEWORKS SCHOLARSHIP
Provides two, $1500 scholarships
to Monongalia County, WV high school graduates who are regularly enrolled
as undergraduate students. Must demonstrate (a) need for financial
assistance due to loss of parental support from death, divorce or loss
of family income, (b) excellence, commitment and leadership through involvement
in school and community organizations, and (c) high academic promise.
Funds come from the Greater Morgantown Community Trust (GMCT). Applications

INDIAN HEALTH SERVICE
SCHOLARSHIP

INTERNATIONAL ORDER OF THE KING'S DAUGHTERS AND SONS HEALTH CAREER SCHOLARSHIPS
Available to students in at least their second year of medicine (MD), dentistry (DDS) or nursing and at least third year of pharmacy, physical or occupational therapy and medical technology. LOYALTY PERMANENT ENDOWMENT
SCHOLARSHIP
The requirements are: 1)

THE LYON SCHOLARSHIP
In honor of WVU's first female
graduate, this scholarship pays full room and board for one year to a female

MARINE CORPS SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION
You could qualify for a Marine Scholarship if you are the son or daughter of a Marine on active duty or in the Reserve, former Marine or Marine Reservist who has received an Honorable Discharge, Medical Discharge, or who was killed while in service of our country, or the son or daughter of an active duty, reserve, or former U.S. Navy Corpsman who is serving or has served, with the U.S. Marine Corps and you are a senior in high school, high school graduate, currently enrolled as an undergraduate in an accredited college or university, or currently enrolled in a post high school accredited vocational/technical school and your 2005 family income is $63,000 or less. Scholarships range from $500 to $10,000. Graduating High School Seniors application deadline is March 1, 2006. All other students application deadlines are April 15, 2006. MCKAIG SCHOLARSHIP
Applicant must be a resident
of Bedford or Somerset County, PA; Mineral or Hampshire County, WV; or
Allegany or Garrett County, MD; and have obtained a high school education
or equivalency thereof in any of these counties. Must also be a full-time
student at an accredited college or university in the United States.

EDWARD ARTHUR MELLINGER
EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION
The Mellinger Foundation
is committed to the support of education, in accordance with the wishes
of its founder. Her goal was to provide an ongoing memorial to her
brother, Edward A. Mellinger, who believed that education was of major
significance to the progress of human society. Accordingly, the Foundation
devotes a major portion of its resources to providing scholarship and loan
assistance to young men and women from western Illinois and eastern Iowa
who attend colleges and universities throughout the nation. For additional

MULTICULTURAL SCHOLARSHIPS
A maximum of three scholarship
awards are made to freshman students. This scholarship was designed
to enhance ethnic and cultural diversity in residential living. These
scholarships pay one-half of the student's on-campus room and board for

THE PARKERSBURG AREA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
The Parkersburg Area Community Foundation has many scholarships for students from Wood, Parkersburg, and surrounding counties. The Foundation administers more than 98 Scholarship Endowment Funds established by individuals, companies, and organizations wanting to assist area students in these counties. PINE FAMILY FOUNDATION,
INC.
This foundation was started
and funded for the purpose of supporting research towards finding cures
for incurable diseases. The current focus being on Alzheimer's and
AIDS. Scholarships from $2,500 to $5,000 and grants from $10,000
to $20,000 are being provided to researchers and graduate students who
are working towards a cure for these diseases. For additional information

PREDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS
IN BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES
This program is open to both

RELIEF FOR FAMILIES OF
9/11 VICTIMS
The September 11 Scholarship
Alliance is coordinating scholarship funds created to assist families of
people killed or permanently disabled in terrorist attacks on America on
September 11, 2001, including airplane crews and passengers, World Trade
Center and Pentagon workers and visitors, and relief workers - including
fire fighters, law enforcement, port authority officers, and emergency
medical personnel. Scholarships are available for victims' dependent
children, spouses, or domestic partners. Each of the scholarship

SALLIE MAE FUND SCHOLARSHIPS
American Dream Scholarship - Offers scholarships ranging from $500 to $5,000 to African-American students with demonstrated financial need. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, with a minimum 2.5 grade point average, who meet Pell Grant eligibility, and are enrolled full-time.
First in My Family Scholarship - Provides scholarship awards of $500 to $5,000 to Hispanic-American students who are the first in their family to attend college.
Unmeet Need Scholarship - Open to families with a combined income of less than $30,000, this program provides a "last dollor" resource of $1,000 to $3,800 when no other funds are available.
ARLENE G. AND LOUISE STONE
SWIGER DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP
Provides a stipend of $12,000
plus payment of tuition. Students beginning their doctoral study
(PhD. or EdD) the succeeding fall semester or students in their first year
of doctoral study are eligible for these awards. Must be US Citizen.

TALBOTS WOMEN'S SCHOLARSHIP
FUND
Talbots has established a unique national $100,000 scholarship program for women
who earned their high school diploma or GED at least 10 years ago and who
are now seeking a college degree. Applicants must have at least two semesters (24 credit hours or more) remaining to complete their undergraduate degree as of the 2006 fall academic term. THIRD WAVE FOUNDATION
SCHOLARSHIP
Available to full and part
time female students age 30 and under. Must demonstrate financial
need. Must be involved in the social justice movement, working on
issues such as racism, homophobia, sexism or other institutional injustices.
Application deadline is May 1 for Fall cycle and November 1 for Spring

THOMAS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL
AUXILIARY SCHOLARSHIP
Scholarship may be awarded
to a full time or a part time student pursuing a degree in a health care
field. The applicant must: 1) provide proof of at least
a 2.75 grade point average; 2) have volunteered a minimum of 75 hours in
a health care facility. Special consideration will be given to persons
who have volunteered at Thomas Memorial Hospital; 3) be a resident of WV;
4) provide appropriate tax and personal reference information. Application
packets are available through the Financial Aid Office or the Education

TUITION SCHOLARSHIP FOR
CHILDREN OF CLASSIFIED STAFF
A qualified applicant must
meet all of the following requirements: a child of a current full-time
WVU classified employee; be a legal dependent as defined by the IRS; a
student in good standing at WVU or accepted for admission to WVU.
The scholarship is for undergraduate students only. The criteria
for selection of this scholarship is evidence of financial need as the
primary criteria with academic performance, being the secondary criteria.
Academic performance will be evaluated on grade point average and also
on ACT or SAT scores for incoming freshmen. Applicants not receiving
other gift aid at least equal to tuition and fees will be given priority
consideration. Scholarships will be awarded by a selection committee.
To be considered, applicants must file a FAFSA, along with the Tuition
Scholarship Application for Children of Classified Staff, which can be
obtained from the Staff Council Office, PO Box 6850, Morgantown, WV 26506-6850. Application deadline is May 1.

USA FUNDS SCHOLARSHIP
PROGRAM
USA Funds will award renewable
scholarships to students with financial need. They plan to award
up to $3 million in new scholarships next year to full-time and half-time
undergraduate students and full-time graduate students who have an annual
adjusted gross family income of $35,000 or less. Other criteria to
be considered include citizenship, past academic performance and potential,
demonstrated leadership, participation in school and community activities,
work experience and career and educational aspirations and goals.
Up to 50 percent of the awards will go to students who are either members
of an ethnic group or who are physically disabled. Applications will
be accepted through March 15. Program details and an application

FUND

WEST VIRGINIA RURAL PRIMARY
CARE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
Program is funded by the
Bureau of Primary Care, Department of Health & Human Services.
Administered locally by the West Virginia University Office of Rural Health
to provide stipends to medical, dental, nurse practitioner, nurse midwife,
physician assistant or clinical psychology students for the time spent
in rural areas completing clinical rotations. Dental students must
have completed one month at a rural site. All students must have
completed one year of training in a certified program. Students must
apply and be recommended by one of the West Virginia Rural Health Education
Partnership Consortium sites. For additional information, contact

WV UNITED HEALTH SYSTEMS
HP SCHOLARSHIP
Scholarships are offered
through the United Hospital Center (UHC) to students from Harrison
and Doddridge counties in WV. Applicant must be accepted as a student
in medicine, osteopathy, dentistry or veterinary science; or be enrolled
in an accredited state training program for nurses, mid-level practitioners
or allied health personnel. Applicant must also demonstrate financial need,
personal leadership and community service. An interview with the
selection committee may be requested. Recipient will need to practice
in WV following graduation or training for a minimum of one year for each
year the scholarship was received; otherwise, the scholarship converts
to a loan with interest. Students should contact the UHC in February to
request application. Deadline to apply is April 1st. Contact
