The Global Engagement Office was created to transform lives through global health programs. From strategic international partnerships to interprofessional education and participation in select global health initiatives, global engagement is a driving force in faculty and student life.
Through our global endeavors, on behalf of the Vice President's Office, we represent the five schools in the West Virginia University (WVU) Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center: the School of Dentistry, the School of Medicine, the School of Nursing, the School of Pharmacy, and the School of Public Health.
Currently, we engage in a wide range of activities including, but not limited to, inter-institutional collaborations, placing international sponsored students and scholars, and the in-bounding and out-bounding of students and faculty members. We are active throughout most parts of the world now, including Central America, East Asia, the Middle East, North America, Northern Europe, South Africa, South America, South Asia, Southeast Africa, Southeast Asia, the South Pacific, West Africa, and Western Europe. We have helped raise the profile of WVU.
Our goals include cultivating strategic international health partnerships that are consistent with our mission/vision, promoting interprofessional health education and participation in select global health initiatives, fostering the development of future global health leaders, and creating an administrative structure for global health engagement that is responsive to faculties, staffs, and students around the world.
