GRANTS & AWARDS
The Global Engagement Office is proud to offer pilot grants and travel awards to faculty members and students of the West Virginia University Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center. In line with its mission, the Global Engagement Office bestows these grants and awards to faculty members and students who strive to create long-term, self-sustaining global activities and participate in globally focused field placements or community-based research projects.

Faculty Members: The Nancy Sanders Memorial Faculty Research Abroad Grant
The Global Engagement Office invites annual submissions of Pilot grant proposals focused on the development or expansion of global health scholarly projects. A total of $10,000.00 for one year is available to support faculty research collaboration efforts abroad.
Students: The Nancy Sanders Memorial Student Study Abroad Travel Award
The Global Engagement Office recognizes that securing funds for global health trips, rotations or missions can be challenging. Thus, the Global Engagement Office offers up to 10 awards, in conjunction with the Office of Global Affairs, valued at $2,000.00 each, to assist students who are committed to improving and advancing global health at the Health Sciences and abroad. For the 2017-2018 academic year, one of these ten awards is prioritized for an outbound placement through the Global Health Learning Opportunities (GHLO) collaborative of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC).
