Lana Winkler is from Blacksville, WV and graduated from WVU medical school. Following the Transitional Year she will complete a Radiology residency at WVU. She lives with her husband of 2 years, Tyler, an engineer. In her free time she enjoys being outdoors, reading, decorating her new home and traveling to the beach.

Brian McMillan is from Princeton, WV and completed his undergraduate and medical training at West Virginia University. He will continue training with the Department of Ophthalmology upon completion of the Transitional Year. He is married to his wife Ashlee and has two cats, Mango and Nala. When not practicing medicine Brain enjoys running, mountain biking, and working on his house.

Tim Sondej is from Valencia, PA and graduated from medical school at Loyola University of Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. Following his Transitional Year residency he will finish training in Radiology at University of Texas Southwestern. He enjoys working out, reading, enjoying the outdoors and working on research related activities. He is a huge Texas Longhorns fan and looks forward to following his team while living in Texas.

Hannah Lawther is from Moundsville, WV. She went to Youngstown State University for undergraduate training, and also played soccer in college while there. Following undergraduate she did pediatric neurology research at Weill Cornell Medical School in New York City. She graduated from medical school at WVU, and following completion of her Transitional Year she will begin her Diagnostic Radiology residency at the Ohio State University Medical Center. In her free time she enjoys working out, movies, and traveling.

Andrew Gentilin is from Charleston, WV and graduated from medical school at WVU. Following his Transitional Year residency he will finish training in Anesthesiology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He has been married to his wife Kasey for 3 years. He enjoys watching football and hockey and spends a lot of his free time with his Doberman pinscher at the dog park.

Blake Forcina is from Edmond, Oklahoma. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2007 with a BS in Physiology. He is a trumpet player and is a proud alumnus of the OSU Cowboy Marching Band and the OSU Wind Ensemble. Blake earned his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma and is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. After his transitional year, Blake will be completing a residency in ophthalmology at the WVU Eye Institute. He is married to Dawn Forcina. Together, they enjoy cooking, cycling, hiking, and playing with their cocker spaniel, Tucker, and orange corn snake, Amelio.

Chris Groat was born and raised in Greensboro, NC. He went to Furman University for his undergraduate training and went to St. George’s University for medical school. He will be continuing his medical training in Ophthalmology at WVU. He plans to work as an Ophthalmologist in his home town in NC. In his free time, Chris hangs out with his giant dog (Baxter) and does pottery. Chris recently acquired a Big Green Egg and assumes smoking foods will soon account for a substantial amount of his free time.

Austin Vargo is from Charleston, WV. He completed his undergraduate training at the University of California Berkeley. He then graduated from medical school at WVU. Following his Transitional Year he will finish training in Radiation Oncology at UPMC. He enjoys being outdoors especially on the water jet skiing, golfing, and attending mountaineer games.

Erica Ghareeb is from Poca, WV. She completed undergraduate and medical school at West Virginia University. Following her Transitional Year she will continue her training in Dermatology at WVU. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, running, reading and playing with her chocolate lab, Eli.
