Dina Jones

Dina Jones Dr. Dina Jones is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at WVU. Dr. Jones received her doctoral degree in epidemiology from the University of Pittsburgh in 2001, then completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Division of Rheumatology at the same University. In addition to her appointment in Orthopaedics, she holds faculty appointments in the Division of Physical Therapy, the Injury Control and Research Center, and the Center for Excellence in Disabilities at WVU. Dr. Jones serves on several national committees including the Arthritis Foundation, American College of Rheumatology, and the US Bone and Joint Decade. At the state level, she is a member of the West Virginia Bureau for Public Health's Osteoporosis and Arthritis Advisory Panel.

Dr. Jones has expertise in physical activity epidemiology, health promotion, rheumatology, orthopaedics, physical therapy, telemedicine, and outcomes assessment. Her research agenda focuses on improving physical activity levels in people with arthritis and assessing outcomes in orthopaedic patients after trauma or joint replacement. She is currently implementing a federally-funded grant to improve arthritis symptoms and health-related quality of life in people with arthritis in eight counties in West Virginia. Dr. Jones has developed strong relationships with key partners such as the West Virginia Bureau for Public Health, the West Virginia Bureau of Senior Services, and the Arthritis Foundation in order to conduct her work. Her work has been supported through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Association of American Medical Colleges, the Arthritis Foundation, the Foundation for Physical Therapy, and the American College of Rheumatology.
