Nadine Wathen is Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Information & Media Studies (FIMS) at The University of Western Ontario (UWO) in London, Ontario, Canada. She completed Bachelor's(Honors) and Master's degrees in Experimental Psychology prior to spending >10 years as a Research Associate in a variety of health research settings, including 7 years as Coordinator of the Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care. It was during this time that she completed her PhD (FIMS, UWO) which examined women's decision-making regarding hormone replacement therapy. Nadine then completed a post-doctoral fellowship in women's health in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University in Hamilton, where she worked with Dr. Harriet MacMillan to launch an integrated research agenda in the area of violence against women, in particular examining the health care response to this important issue. She currently holds a Canadian Institutes of Health Research-Ontario Women's Health Council New Investigator Award (2007-2012) to support her research, which examines women's health decision-making and knowledge translation and exchange, especially in the area of violence against women.
