Rural Health Interest Group

  • A student organized interdisciplinary group that meets from 12:00-1:00pm on the WVU Health Sciences Center campus once a month while class is in session-lunch is provided
  • Open to all students interested in rural health
  • A platform to learn about and discuss rural health issues, rural practice, and recruitment
  • Speakers are faculty, staff and rural health providers

2017-2018 Leadership Elections

Structure: Leadership Board/Council of 4 students. All 4 positions are to be re-elected each year. Positions are open to all health professional students of all years

Commitment:

-       Leadership meetings 1/month

-       Reach out to and communicate with speakers

-       Plan and organize monthly RHIG meetings/events

-       Plan and organize 1 service event/semester

Email Brianna Sheppard @ absheppard@hsc.wvu.edu with your Name, Discipline, Year, and a short statement describing your reason for running by 2/27. An email will be sent out to department listserv with a link to a Survey Monkey containing names and statements of candidates. Link also available on institute’s website by 2/28. Vote within the Survey Monkey by 3/10. Officers to be announced during March 13th meeting
