Occupational Medicine Residency Program
Thank you for your interest in the Occupational Medicine residency program at West Virginia University (WVU) in Morgantown, WV.
Occupational Medicine is very important in West Virginia and WVU’s program is the only Occupational Medicine residency in the Appalachian region. We focus on health of workers, including the ability to perform work, as well as the physical, chemical, and social environments of the workplace.
Our program is funded on a grant through the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and accepts 1-2 residents per year. Applications are accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) only.
The residency program is two years designed to provide clinical and administrative experiences in occupational medicine with opportunities for residents to expand their interests during the practicum phase rotations. We prepare our graduates with the skills and knowledge to sit for board certifications in either ABPM or AOBPM. We are in compliance with the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Requirements for Graduate Medical Education.
Welcome to Wild, Wonderful West Virginia!
