PGY-3:
B. Jean Meade, MD, DVM
Jean Meade completed her bachelor's degree at the College of William and Mary, M.S and Ph.D. at Virginia Polytechnic and State University, and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia. After practicing veterinary medicine for 8 years, she returned to academia and served on the faculty of the Medical College of Virginia in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology for 5 years before moving to Morgantown to accept a position at NIOSH. Her research focus is in the field of immunotoxicology. In 1995, she returned to medical school in part to add a clinical component to her research. Jean holds an adjunct position in the department of Animal Sciences and Human Nutrition where she coordinates a service dog training course, and a Clinical Instructor's position in Family Medicine, where she is developing a farm-to–school childhood obesity intervention program. Her outside interests include critters of all kinds (she continues to practice veterinary medicine) and water sports.
PGY-2:
Rayed Almani, MD
Dr. Rayed Almanei was born and raised in Saudi Arabia, where he obtained his medical degree MBBS (2003) and completed a one year internship (2004). He then joined Alqassim University School of Medicine in Saudi Arabia where he was involved in teaching and tutoring the students. Upon arriving at WVU, Ray spent one year in an observership, completed a preliminary year in surgery and then entered the Occupational Medicine program. Rayed and his wife, Anhar (a biologist), adopted a snowshoe cat and named her Toffee. Rayed and Anhar enjoys traveling, bike riding and exploring new places.
Mohannad Kusti, MD
Dr. Mohannad Kusti, born in Houston, TX, was awarded his bachelor degree in Medicine and Surgery at king Abdul-Aziz University – School of Medicine and Allied Sciences. He completed his sub-internship at Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University in Providence, RI and completed a preliminary year in the Department of Surgery at WVU. Mohannad has many research interests and published a book chapter in the Pharmacological Approach to Obesity. He is also involved in multiple other research projects. Dr. Kusti’s current interest is in Ambulance/EMS personnel safety research.
Syam Stoll, MD
Dr. Syam Stoll, born in AP, India, moved to the United States in 1979, to Youngstown, Ohio where completed his primary and secondary school education. Syam moved to Huntington, WV in 1991 to work for Richwood Industries, a Coal Mining Equipment Manufacturing firm in various different capacities, during this time he attended Marshall University where he received a BS in Biology as well as a MS in Biology with a thesis in Icthyocytogenetics. During his Graduate training he also worked at Marshall University School of Medicine in the department of Pharmacology as a research assistant for 2 years. Syam then attended a Marshall University School of Medicine and received his MD in 2001; He completed two years of categorical surgery training at Marshall University School of Medicine. He then practiced Internal Medicine and Urgent Care for 7 years at Lincolin Primary Care in Hamlin, WV before pursuing training in Occupational and Environmental Medicine. Syam and his wife Gwen have two children, Solomon 5 years old and Victoria 2 years old. His outside interests are weight lifting and Outdoor activities: Fishing and Hunting.
