PGY-2:

Cristina Demian, MD, MPH

Cristina Demian was born and raised in Bucharest, Romania, where she obtained her medical degree (1991) and completed a residency in Family Medicine (1996). Prior to entering the Occupational Medicine program, Cristina completed a Transitional Year program at WVU. In recent years she was also was involved in conducting public health research in cancer prevention and control at WVU. She would like to use her clinical and research skills in academic Occupational Medicine in the future. Cristina and her husband, Cat (a geographer), have a son, Radu, who is 7, and a daughter, Victoria, who is 4. They also have a Vizsla dog named Aro. Her family enjoys hiking and traveling.


Sanjeev Kakkar, MD, MPH

Sanjeev Kakkar, MD, MPH

Dr. Sanjeev Kakkar did his bachelors degree in medicine and surgery from Delhi University, India and went on to do his M.P.H from Northern Illinois University. He extensively worked at various health departments for three and half years before he got accepted as an intern in family medicine at Carillon Clinic, Virginia. After completion of his internship he joined WVU as a second year resident in occupational medicine. He will be graduating in 2010, and besides medicine he holds considerable interest in writing.


Andy Yorgason

Andy Yorgason, DO, MHPE

Dr. Andrew Yorgason recently completed his osteopathic internship at Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling, WV. He is a graduate of the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine of Midwestern University, class of 2008. Andy is originally from Ogden, Utah. Andy and his wife, Cammie, have two children, Ammon and Isaac, and are expecting their third boy for Thanksgiving. He enjoys jazz music, playing ultimate frisbee, and serving in his church.

Anna Allen, MD

Anna Allen, MD

Dr. Anna Allen's educational time here at WVU includes a BA in Physics and Sociology & Anthropology and an MS in Occupational Hygiene and Occupational Safety here at WVU. She graduated from WVU School of Medicine in 2000, completed Family Medicine residency at Washington Hospital in Washington PA and worked private practice for four years before returning to training in Occupational Medicine. She and her husband Jay currently live in Morgantown and spend their free time reading books, watching movies, keeping up the house and skiing when weather permits.
