Residency News:
Congratulations to Program Director, Chris Martin, and Resident
Physician, Scott Leslie for earning one of the very competitive
Occupational Physician Scholarships in 2006. The Scholarship was
initiated by the American College of Occupational and Environmental
Medicine in the early 1980's to provide stipends for the most qualified
physicians in the US to complete ACGME accredited programs in this
specialty. This is the first WVU resident to earn this honor since Lynda
Lombardo in 1997. A complete list of past winners is available on the
organization website: http://www.opsf.org/scholars/past.asp
Helping to grow the field of Occupational and Environmental Medicine to top talent is OPSF's primary mission. Since 1988 the Scholarship Fund has awarded stipends to over 130 physicians in 28 ACGME-residency programs throughout the United States.
