Multimedia Services

Multimedia Production

Classroom Technology is able to offer multimedia production services to our faculty, staff, and students of the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center. We currently operate with two Final Cut Pro editing stations. Our shooting and mastering formats are DV, DVC Pro, and DVC Pro 50. We also have fully equipped studio with custom configurable lighting that can meet the various needs of clients for on site production shoots. Our services include, on/off site video shoots, video editing, graphic design as well as media duplication. The production staff works closely with our clients to identify, interpret, and create their desired finished product.

Facilities

The Health Sciences Center has a total of eleven multimedia rooms equipped with Crestron touch panels, mounted LCD projectors, document cameras, instructor PC’s, screens and monitors for additional viewing. In addition, nine multimedia rooms have powered seating, and four have a sympodium, and a H.323 video conferencing unit for distance learning.

Room Scheduling

An online scheduling system is available via the web to our customer base. We strive to provide reliable, effective, and convenient educational facility management. IT Services is currently responsible for the scheduling of 45 classrooms, conference rooms, and auditoriums located within the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center. These rooms are utilized by physicians, faculty, staff and students for various purposes but the primary utilization is WVU semester courses.

Equipment Rentals

Classroom Technology provides faculty, staff, and students of the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center with free equipment rentals. Equipment rentals include 5 “Super Carts” which consist of a LCD projector, computer, television, DVD and VHS Player, and speakers. These carts are portable and can be transported to any room located within the HSC. Classroom Technology also reserves portable single lens and overhead projectors, TV/DVD/VCR combos, camcorders, a document camera, projector screens, a slide projector, easels, and wireless mice.
