Software Policy (Very Important)

The Learning Center has both an ethical and a legal responsibility for compliance with software copyright laws. In general, these laws prohibit unauthorized uses and copying of software beyond those uses and copying privileges specifically granted by the author or developer of the software. To comply with these laws, the following procedures have been established for the Learning Center.

Without prior permission from the Learning Center Management, no one is allowed to copy software to or from the computers in the Learning Center. This includes, but is not limited to, all software, both instructional and productivity, system files, printer drivers, fonts, shareware, freeware, and public domain software. Ownership of these types of programs by the Learning Center does not guarantee distribution rights to students, faculty, staff, employees or any other persons.

If users want to load software that they or their department own, onto Learning Center computer hard drives, they must make prior arrangements with the Learning Center Management.

Instructors who wish to load software on the Learning Center computers for student use or classes should provide the program two weeks in advance to the Learning Center Management, so proper testing procedures can be followed, and insure appropriate copyright requirements are met.
To ensure software packages will function properly on our computers, the Learning Center staff is available to assist faculty in evaluating instructional software.

Will this session require installation of special software? Yes No
If yes, please provide specific details in the comment section of this form and a member of management will contact you.
