Recall and Hold Procedure

  • Select the "Request" button while on the page that tells you that the item you want is checked out along with it's due date.
  • Enter your WVUID number encoded on your library card and then your last name. Click "Log in".
  • Select "Recall" or "Hold" from the drop-down box for type of request. Click "OK".
  • The hold or recall request screen for the book or journal now appears.
  • You will see the book or journal's barcode displayed in a pull down menu.
  • Verify that the book or journal currently selected is the volume and issue that you want.
  • Re-enter your WVUID number encoded on your library card in the blank box labeled WVUID.
  • In the "Comments" field, enter your local telephone number and/or email address so that the library can contact you when the book arrives.
  • Choose a location where you want the book delivered.
  • Select "Submit Request" button.
Patrons who have a book or journal checked out that is recalled by another patron will have a recall fine added onto their account if they do not return the item by the date specified in the recall notification letter. Recall fines are $3.00 per day beginning with the new due date given in the recall notification letter.
