Faculty Reserve Guidelines

Various types of materials may be placed on reserve: books, copies of periodical articles, audio tapes, slides, video tapes, old tests, solutions to homework problems, etc. Once an item is placed on reserve, no one may take it out of the library with the exception of those faculty members who placed the material on reserve. Faculty may take those materials out of the library for class use. Faculty need to notify their students when these items are unavailable for use in the library. Materials on reserve are kept behind the Circulation Desk or may be available electronically. Students must have their Mountaineer card or their bar-coded library card to check out material. eReserves are available here. Reserve items circulate for two hours (in library use only). Late return is penalized at the rate of 2 cents per minute. For personal copy items, bring the items to the Health Sciences Library (HSL). Fill out the request form at the Circulation Desk. For items owned by the HSL, fill out a request form at the HSL’s Circulation Desk. Materials owned by the HSL may also be placed on reserve using the reserve processing form or via e-mail.
