Finding Statistics

Finding statistics is challenging for the following reasons:

  • Takes time to gather, compile, and write up reports and/or journal articles.
  • Statistics are collected by diverse groups from governmental agencies to private foundations.
  • Some statistics are listed in articles in MMWR Weekly, or articles in health sciences journals.
  • Others are on web pages such as the National Center for Health Statistics and require going through several layers to obtain what you need.
