The Cancer Center is part of the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG), one of the largest clinical trial organizations in the nation. We are participating in more than 10 clinical research studies aimed at finding better prevention and treatment methods for breast cancer. With the help of a research grant from the Department of Defense, we are developing novel treatments for treating memory loss in patients receiving chemotherapy for breast cancer. We are using highly sophisticated PET scans to study these phenomena, and are the only center in the nation conducting this research.
