The selected candidate(s) will exhibit extraordinary potential for significantly advancing his/her field toward novel treatments in cancer related disciplines, be committed to bench-to-bedside activity, be comfortable with collaborative accomplishment, and have a willingness to share discoveries for the benefit of the larger medical community. Director Hematological Malignancies and Bone Marrow Transplant
The Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center (MBRCC) seeks a distinguished physician scientist/exceptional clinical translational investigator, and thought leader to further its scientific exploration and discovery related to hematologic malignancies, blood and marrow stem cell transplantation. Qualified candidates must be board certified in medicine and hematology with experience in BMT. He/she will exhibit extraordinary potential for significantly advancing the disciplines toward novel treatments of hematologic malignancies as well as blood and marrow stem cell transplantation. The new Director will be well prepared for leadership in academic medicine, committed to bench-to-bedside activity, comfortable with collaborative accomplishment, and exhibit willingness to-share discoveries for the benefit of the larger medical community. The researcher will establish and conduct an independent research program in cancer health services, health interventions, and/or health outcomes research. This appointment is in the WVU School of Pharmacy Department of Pharmaceutical Systems and Policy (PSP) and is available immediately. Eminent Scholar in Oncology Nursing
The researcher will establish and conduct an independent research program in oncology nursing. This appointment is in the WVU School of Nursing Department of Health Promotion or Health Restoration and begins in Fall 2008.

Post Doctoral Fellowship Positions

Two post-doctoral fellowship positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Lan Guo of the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center at West Virginia University to study the effects of nanoparticles on cellular signaling and lung inflammation, and microRNA in cancer. The first project will examine the potential toxicological effects of nanoparticles in human cells. The second project will explore the regulatory functions of microRNA in lung cancer and breast cancer.  Both projects will extensively involve collaboration with National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH).  A Ph.D. Degree in Molecular Biology or Biology related discipline is required.  Experience with basic molecular, cellular and biochemical techniques is essential. Click here for more information.
