Cancer Prevention and Control leads several federally-funded programs designed to translate research findings into education programs and training for healthcare providers and the public. CPC has five primary program areas— Mid-Atlantic Cancer Information Service (CIS), Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program, North Central Appalachia Cancer Network (ACN), Comprehensive Cancer Control Program and Mountains of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Control Coalition, and Community Education Program.
Collectively, these programs make it easier for patients to access the care they need close to home and easier for everyone, young and old, to understand how to reduce their risk of cancer.
