Bio

Shelly Dusic is a cancer survivor turned Health Information Specialist for the West Virginia Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program. She is currently a member of the Steering Committee for Mountains of Hope, and leads the Lung Cancer Screening Workgroup. She received both her R.B.A. in Philosophy, and M.A. in Communication Theory and Research from West Virginia University. As an outspoken advocate for cervical cancer prevention she was recently invited to join global public health leaders for “Toward a Cervical Cancer Free World” event hosted by the Every Woman Every Child Initiative at the United Nations. With over 25 years of volunteer and civic engagement history Shelly is committed to using her communication and research skills to help ease the impact of cancer in WV. She currently resides in Morgantown, WV with her husband Bret, and their cats Cyrano, Shade, and Malice. When not working she can be found enjoying one of her many hobbies which include: research, history, cosplay, fencing, and martial arts.
