‘Having Fun with Health’ at Mountaineer Mall

Saturday event offers fun for all ages

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University Student Nurses’ Association and the Children’s Discovery Museum of West Virginia will host “Having Fun with Health” on Saturday, Feb. 18.  It’s an opportunity for families to have fun learning about healthy lifestyles together.

The event, scheduled for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mountaineer Mall, puts health sciences students directly in touch with their community to show how much fun learning about healthcare can be.

Students from WVU’s nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, exercise physiology and nutrition programs will each provide helpful information and activities highlighting their various disciplines. Parents and kids can get their blood pressure checked, learn how to plan delicious family meals, discover the health benefits of Wii bowling and much more.

Monongalia County E.M.S. will park an ambulance inside the mall for children to explore and see what happens beyond the loud sirens and flashing lights, and everyone is invited to ‘Stop, Drop and Roll’ with local firefighters.

A $2 donation is requested per child, with proceeds benefiting the Children’s Discovery Museum of West Virginia, located at the Mountaineer Mall. The mission of the Children’s Discovery Museum of West Virginia is to inspire children and their grown-ups to explore, discover, and grow together through exceptional learning experiences and interactive play.
