A look back at 2016

2016 was an exciting year for WVU Medicine. The organization cared for more patients than ever before, improving quality and access, and was named among the top academic medical centers in the country.

WVU Medicine formed new partnerships, opened its new tower at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, broke ground for a new clinic in Fairmont, and began renovating the Physican Office Center.

There were accolades, accreditations, certifications, and designations. The organization became the state's largest employer, and spent a lot of time recruting top employees, including nurses, advanced pratice providers, and physicians.

WVU Medicine served its state and local community by assisting with flood relief efforts, holding community health events, and supporting charities that improve the health and well-being of those it serves.

On Jan. 17, President and CEO Albert L. Wright, Jr., shared a year-in-review presentation with directors and managers. View the presentation.
