Celebrate Nursing Services Week May 6-12

WVU Healthcare is celebrating Nursing Services Week May 6-12. To recognize all professionals who work to create a tradition of nursing excellence and to celebrate the recent Magnet re-designation, this year's theme is “Believe and Achieve.” View the news release.

Below is a list of the Nursing Services Week activities and promotions taking place throughout the organization. Check with your department's reward and recognition team or management team to learn about department and unit-based activities. View the Nursing Services Week event flyer.
 

  • Back-to-School Drive - Wednesday, May 6, from 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m., at the former Foodland building on the Mileground
    Items are being collected to help prepare local children in need for upcoming school year. The drive, organized by WVU Healthcare nursing employees, is held in conjunction with the United Way Day of Caring. For more information, view the flyer.
  • Carnival Celebration - Thursday, May 7, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., at the Erickson Alumni Center in the Ruby Grand Hall
    Come one, come all to the WVU School of Nursing/WVU Healthcare Nursing Services Week Carnival Celebration! Enjoy food, games, raffles, chair massages and more. Shop at the various participating vendors. Hang out and take a photo with Monti Bear and the WVU Mountaineer. View the flyer for a full list of activities and vendors. A shuttle service will be provided to and from Ruby from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Operation Gratitude - various times and locations
    Operation Gratitude is a project that involves trained hospital volunteers delivering gestures of gratitude to nursing departments. The project is sponsored by Friends of WVUH, in conjunction with nursing leadership. Members of the reward and recognition team have been invited to join those making the deliveries.   • Blessing of the Hands - various times and locations
    Chaplains will provide this service to individual units/departments as arranged by management. For more information, contact John Hardman.
  • Friends Gift Shop Discount - Wednesday, May 6-Tuesday, May 12, at Friends Gift Shop, first floor, Ruby
    Stop by the Gift Shop for some retail therapy with a special 40 percent discount available to Nursing Services employees. Fill out the sign-in sheet at the Gift Shop to qualify for the discount.
