WVU Medicine already provides the highest quality care, but it is continuing its transformation into a shining example of cleanliness and organization.

Environmental Services (EVS) has been working with Winans Services Company to refinish 150,000 square feet of flooring throughout all of Ruby Memorial Hospital. The contractor scrubs the floors, cleans the edges and baseboards and applies two coats of resilient floor protector.

Another company, EquipSystems, conducts deep cleaning, bar coding and documentation for hospital rolling stock and other Nursing unit items. Several areas have already benefited from this initiative. From Thursday, July 9, through Monday, July 20, these specialized cleaning services will occur in the following areas:

  • 10E

All work is done in tandem with EVS and will occur on second and third shifts with no disruption of patient services.

“We want to look like the first class healthcare institution that we are,” said WVU Medicine Vice President of Operations Amy Bush, B.S.N., M.B.A. “Our appearance is important to our patients, their families, visitors and the healthcare team. We’re taking a team and systematic approach to this project.”
