'Code Elopement' incorporated into Emergency Code Sheet

WVU Medicine has changed its Emergency Code Sheet and internal messaging.

"Code Walker" has been changed to "Code Elopement," which refers to a missing adult patient.

All calls to Security Dispatch for missing at-risk patients should be reported using this new terminology.

WVU Medicine employees who witness a Code Elopement should follow the steps outlined on the Emergency Code Sheet. The sheet and other emergency protocols can be found on this webpage or accessed through CONNECT. Look for "Emergency Response Codes" in the left navigation of the CONNECT homepage.

"Code Amber" will continue to be used to report a missing child.
