Take a virtual tour of the Maternal Infant Care Center at WVU Medicine Children's

WVU Medicine Children’s provides high-quality, family-centered maternity care to meet the individual needs of all pregnant women — from routine obstetrical care to treatments for mothers and babies at the highest risk. In addition to the care we provide families who have no complications, the Maternal Infant Care Center (MICC) serves women throughout the state who face difficult obstetrical situations. Seventy percent of MICC deliveries are classified as high risk.

This video tour offers a glimpse of the many options available for MICC patients, including birthing rooms that simulate a normal home environment. Each room features technology equipped to handle any birthing situation.

The care team includes a maternal-fetal medicine specialist, a certified women’s healthcare nurse practitioner with certification in high-risk perinatal nursing, a genetics counselor, and a registered diagnostic medical ultrasonographer. Perinatal genetic services include targeted ultrasound and genetic amniocentesis, supported by an on-site cytogenetics laboratory.
