Crane will cause temporary sidewalk closure behind hospital

Part of the sidewalk behind J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, near the outdoor section of the Market@WVU (Health Sciences Center) will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 29, to make room for a crane that will be used for a construction project that will begin at 3 p.m. and end Friday, Dec. 1.

Detour signs for pedestrian traffic will be placed to direct foot traffic through the loading dock entrance, through level 4 of Ruby, and back out onto the sidewalk past Sterile Processing.

The doors leading to the sidewalk behind Security/Dispatch and behind Environmental Services will be locked by security.

Should there be a weather issue, the project will be pushed back to the following Thursday and Friday.
