Event Location: Jan. 25, Fukushima Auditorium, HSC; Feb. 1, Gluck Theatre, Mountainlair

Cancer Prevention and Control at the WVU Cancer Institute will present two showings of "Someone You Love: The HPV Epidemic," a documentary that takes a look into the lives of five women affected by HPV, the widely misunderstood and controversial virus that causes several types of cancer, including cervical.

Read a WVU Medicine blog about cervical cancer.

The first showing of the documentary will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at the Fukushima Auditorium in the Health Sciences Center. The second showing is set for 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1, at the Gluck Theatre in the WVU Mountainlair.

Representatives from Cancer Prevention and Control, the West Virginia Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program, WVU Medicine Student Health, the West Virginia Immunization Network, and others will be on hand to answer questions about the link between HPV and cervical cancer, and share information about how to prevent the disease.

Both showings are open to faculty, staff, and students, as well as the general public. 1.5 hours of nursing, pharmacy, and physician CEs and CEUs are available. Visit this link for registration details
