Ruby goes live with FUJI Synapse cardiology and radiology PACS

In 2016-2017, WVU Medicine approved a multi-million dollar initiative to replace multiple cardiology and radiology imaging archives. The goal was to create a system-wide standard imaging platform for a Cardiovascular Imaging System for invasive cardiology and a Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA) to retain traditional and non-traditional images.

Planning for the initiative included physicians and operational leaders across the health sytem and involved many of the leading vendors in the imaging industry. The team members worked together to find the best system that could securely, easily, and efficiently view images not only on workstations but also on mobile devices. FUJI Synapse was selected as the vendor because its products met this criteria.

Starting this month, WVU Medicine will migrate to the new FUJI Synapse systems. Here is the go-live schedule:

  • Aug. 21, 2018: J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital
