Gerber is new VP of payor strategy and contracting

Benjamin Gerber joined WVU Medicine in January as vice president for payor strategy and contracting for the West Virginia University Health System (WVUHS).

Gerber holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Pennsylvania State University and a law degree from Harvard Law School. Prior to WVUHS, Gerber served as vice president of network and payment strategy and associate general counsel for managed care at Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health in Philadelphia. 

In his role at WVU Medicine, Gerber oversees the health system’s overall relationships with third-party payors, including negotiation of all managed care contracts and development of value-based collaborations. He also leads the operations of Health Partners Network, a physician-hospital organization affiliated with WVU Medicine.
