Global Public Health Brigades to host informational meeting Oct. 5

Event Date: 10/05/2015 from 06:00 PM - 08:00 PM

Global Public Health Brigades is a student organization devoted to improving public health throughout the world. WVU Department of Epidemiology Associate Professor David Parker, Ph.D., serves as the faculty adviser for the Global Public Health Brigades, which empowers under-resourced communities in the developing world to decrease life-threatening diseases. The group achieves this goal by improving the overall infrastructure within the home through the construction of five projects: eco-stoves, latrines, water-storage units, showers and concrete floors.

Global Public Health Brigades will hold a meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, in the Blackwater Room of the Mountainlair. They will discuss the upcoming trip to Nicaragua, which will take place March 19-25, 2016.
