Holiday message from WVU Medicine President and CEO Christopher C. Colenda, M.D., M.P.H.

Dear Colleagues,

I wanted to take a brief moment to wish all of you a very safe and happy holiday season! As you come together with your family, friends, and co-workers to celebrate the season, I hope you do so with the full knowledge of how grateful I am for your services, and the satisfaction knowing that every day you make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

This year was an exceptionally busy one, and we have much to celebrate, especially as we continue to grow and better organize ourselves so that we can provide West Virginians a more cohesive and integrated healthcare delivery system. Many of our hospitals, clinical programs, and providers once again received national recognition, and we continued to build new partnerships with other West Virginia providers, thus enabling us to extend our specialized expertise to all of West Virginia. Though our pace this year was brisk and the changes were many, you didn’t miss a beat, and you continued to provide excellent care to our patients. Healthcare requires us all to “stack hands” in support of our patients in their time of need and care for them as a team. We have a great team!

Next year will be just as busy as we continue to align our care sites more closely and integrate our clinical operations. Our goal is to ensure we’re able to provide West Virginians better access to a comprehensive health network that can help them manage their everyday health and wellness, as well as their most complex illnesses.

Thank you again for all you do to contribute to our success! Happy holidays to all, and may peace be your greatest gift.

Sincerely,

Christopher C. Colenda, MD, MPH
